Cheap to start. But there are real tradeoffs:

Question 3: Can you justify a $300K+ annual commitment right now?
If yes: And you have a validated use case, and you're planning to build more AI products after the first one, hire. Build the team. The long-term economics favor in-house once you have enough AI work to keep a team busy.
If no: Sprint-build. Get a working product for $3K to $16K in two weeks. Validate it in production. If it works and you need more, you can book more sprints or use the validated product as the spec for an eventual in-house hire. You're not locked in either way.

If you're building in-house
